Additional Information Carol Hardy-Fanta’s newest book, Contested Transformation: Gender, Race, and Political Leadership in 21st Century America (co-authored with Pei-te Lien, Dianne M. Pinderhughes, and Christine Marie Sierra), was released by Cambridge University Press in October 2016.

In June 2012, after almost 20 years at the University of Massachusetts Boston and more than 10 as Director of the Center for Women in Politics & Public Policy, Carol Hardy-Fanta retired from the university. She remains affiliated as Senior Fellow at the McCormack Graduate School of Policy and Global Studies, and, in this capacity, is pursuing her own scholarship on gender and multicultural leadership.

Dr. Hardy-Fanta is a nationally recognized scholar on Latina/o politics and has published widely on the intersection of gender, race and ethnicity in politics and public policy.
